Project Phases
If you haven't already, you will want to think about what you wish to accomplish with your new website. Decide if it is to be informational in nature or possibly a call to action. Determine if you will require the incorporation of Flash for interactivity, movies added, or any special functionality, and how you would like for your visitors to be involved, consider the type of design style which appeals to you and what you want to convey to your site visitors and then let us know. Once you are ready, please request your free, no-obligation website design quote.
Based on the information that you provide us when requesting your website design quote, we will then attempt to determine what is needed within your website structure to provide you with the right design and layout for your particular industry and situation. This is one reason why it is so important to be as specific as possible when requesting a quote. We will be sure to ask any questions that we feel are needed to insure that we understand exactly what is to be accomplished, and then we will provide you with a quote for your particular project.
Once we have come to an agreement on the project details, timeline and price, we will prepare a website agreement for you to review, sign and send back with your design deposit.
The signed agreement and 25% deposit is required before we schedule a time slot for your website development project. The remainder of your balance will be due upon project completion. Once we have received your 25% deposit and signed agreement, we will provide you with an invoice for your completed project with a receipt for the initial deposit. All of our website development projects are scheduled on a first come first served basis.
If you do not have a domain name registered, we will be happy to do that for you. For a nominal fee we can handle your domain name registration and keep up with the renewal process for you so that you only receive invoicing for your website from one location making it easily manageable.
Upon receiving your deposit and agreement, we will email you to confirm the receipt of your deposit / agreement, and provide you with a list of items which will be needed from you over the course of your site development. You will want to let us know the navigation links you would like (such as home, about us, contact us, services, etc.). You will need to supply all text and/or product information that will be included on your site in notepad or word so that it can be easily copied to your web pages. Please also, include any graphics or images that you would like included such as a company or site logo, photos, etc. Please also let us know of any particular site or sites that you like as guide sites and any color schemes that you like. If you want we will be happy to develop a color scheme for you. eCommerce sites that require us to enter products for you, will require you to supply an Excel spread sheet listing the following: Product Name, Product ID Number (if any), Product Description, Options (if any – size, color, etc), Price, Weight if Needed, Number in Stock, as well as the product photos named in correspondence with the Product ID Number on the spread sheet. Ideally, all of the above information should be supplied prior to us getting started.
We will provide a custom designed home page concept for your web site project. Many times this is provided within a couple of days of your project start date. Upon receiving the design concept you will review it and then via email or telephone let us know what you would like to change if anything and in most circumstances we usually provide you with exactly what you envisioned. If not, then we continue to modify it to until the desired look is achieved.
We set up your website with it's very own ip address on our servers and protect it from the viewing public until it is ready to go live. We then provide you with the viewing address so that you may view the progress of your site at any time. We will always keep you informed of any extensive updates to your site so that you may see the most recent progress.
All of our website projects may include use of professional stock photography images from our current library. If a client requires stock photography which we do not currently possess, an additional fee will apply.
Website Development / Coding Phase
All website database development programming/coding to run any special features/visitor interactivity on your website is completed and tested.
Based upon your agreement and the website design that you selected, we create as many static or dynamic pages as needed to complete your site.
Navigation links or drop down menus, and rollover effects, if desired, are completed.
Creation of a site map page is done which includes easy one-click access to all pages of your site.
Incorporation of your logo, photos and text content is included in all projects. Custom logo design is available for an additional fee, please inquire if interested.
CSS Stylesheets are used to define font faces, styles, sizes and colors for consistency throughout the site.
We build your site from the ground up to be search engine optimized so that it is search engine friendly, and makes use of the proper coding techniques, meta tags, alt tags, page titles, page body text, link text, and image naming convention.
We always recommend at least one contact form to email for your site visitor’s convenience. Using a contact form, a visitor will be able to email you directly from your website without the need of opening their email program. This is especially convenient if a visitor is not using their own computer or when their email program is not available.
We test and evaluate the effectiveness of the search engine on page optimization techniques applied to insure that the proper coding techniques, meta tags, alt tags, page titles, page body text, link text, and image naming conventions are in use. Since we are not working for the Search Engines we cannot guarantee when or where your site will rank within the search engine pages.
We test your site out on all the major operating systems and browsers to insure compatability in the code, and to insure that the end user views the site as it is intended.
We will review your site one more time to insure that all spelling is correct and that the grammar is accurate.
Any and all email contact forms and/or all database programming features included in your project are tested to confirm they are functioning as required. If needed captcha forms can be added to insure that robots do not flood your website with unwanted email.
Once the final payment is recieved we then will take the website live on your domain at your own ip address, and we will email you a paid in full receipt.
The under construction page is taken down and your new site is open and live for viewing.
We will provide a one hour phone conversation to assist in any instructions on how to use any special features of your website administrative section (if your website included this design feature). We also, provide documentation to explain in detail all editable areas of your website. We do not stop there, as we will provide any necessary information and help tools for ongoing site administration.
We will hand submit and provide automatic submission of your website to over 436 search engines and directories (one time) to jump start the indexing phase of all of the major search engines. At an additional rate we will provide on-going search engine optimization that involves a host of features of which are ongoing search engine submission on a monthly basis as well as a specific linking strategy for your website to achieve a top 10 listing for your specific keyword phrases. For up to two weeks after the website has been taken live, we will perform minor updates for you including changing photos, text replacement, links, etc. (maximum of up to 3 hours labor), all free of charge. Major updates or site addtions will result in an additional fee.
